St. Alban, France Chateau de Monterminod is a picturesque castle, which was originally erected on a hilltop overlooking a broad valley; and was utilized for local defense purposes. The medieval structure today is synonymous with its surrounding vineyard, and the combined property is a popular tourist destination. Guests most strongly associate the site with Princess Anne of Cyprus, who wed the duke of France’s Savoie territory in October 1433.
